Event Kit was engaged by Melbourne Food and Wine Festival to deliver the 2016 Festival's opening weekend.

Rivergraze, held on the first weekend of each Festival comprises of five major events spread along the Yarra River, attracting approx. 150,000 visitors annually. Over three days, and five event sites, Melbourne’s riverbanks and gardens come alive with a diverse creative program of free entertainment, cooking demonstrations, outdoor dining and participatory activities.


Challenge: to transform the banks of Melbourne's Yarra River to an oasis of food and wine experiences for everyone, from families to wine enthusiasts.

Outcome: Event Kit designed and delivered a three-day series of five major outdoor public events for the 2016 Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. An estimated 150,000+ people attended the Rivergraze precinct, without incident. The weekend was deemed a huge success for Festival brand exposure and positive engagement by patrons.

Event Kit managed all aspects of event design, production and delivery including catering, temporary kitchen and services installation, public road closures and remote event delivery teams. Partnering with strong large-scale event suppliers, Event Kit brought to life a truly unique experience for both patrons, and passers-by.
